Boxer If you are looking for a medium-sized dog that makes for a good apartment companion, the Boxer is a good choice. Boxers have a very pleasant personality and their short hair makes them easy to care for. In addition, they only require brief walks each day to keep them healthy and happy. Cocker Spaniel While Cocker Spaniels do require getting some basic exercise, they are quite content with spending their days laying around the apartment waiting for their owners to return. Although they are a bit larger than some of the other dogs on the list, weighing in at anywhere from 22 to 38 pound, they are still quite manageable within an apartment. English Bulldog The English Bulldog is a larger breed, but its calm disposition is a good fit for apartment living. These miniature versions of the Greyhound weigh only about 10 pounds and are very fast learners. Like their larger counterparts, they do enjoy running. But, they also like to rest while their owners are away. Lhasa Apso Weighing in at only 15 pounds, the Lhasa Apso is the perfect size for apartment living. In order to maintain its coat, however, this breed does require regular grooming. Pomeranian Looking like a small, fluffy fox, the Pomeranian weighs only 5 pounds. With its small size and pleasant disposition, it is the perfect pet for an apartment. Pug The Pug generally weighs anywhere from 10 to 25 pounds. This breed is very friendly and does not require spending a great deal of time outside. In fact, so long as the pug is taken out for brief walks each day, it will be happy to stay inside all day long. Schipperke This small black dog weighs in at only 10 to 18 pounds and doesn’t have a tail to knock things down in your apartment. Although these dogs are quite active and require daily exercise, they will be happy to run around in the park or outside your apartment for a brief period each day. Schnauzer Miniature Schnauzers are a great choice for apartment living, as they weigh only 13 to 15 pounds.
